The annual New Years Eve party is something everyone looks forward to every year. Before you go out and enjoy the party, read over these tips, and stay safe and healthy as you ring in 2015!

  • Pace yourself – If you plan on drinking on New Years Eve, try pacing yourself. Add extra club soda or tonic to your drink, or if you’re planning on staying sober try a plain tonic and lime drink. That way you can still have a drink in your hand, and no one has to know your not drinking.
  • Never Drink on an empty stomach- Go for high protein snacks as meatballs or that cheese plate everyone seems to be enjoying. If the party you are going to does have food make sure to eat a full hearty meal before you leave the house.
  • Coffee does not “sober you up”- In fact in can be very dangerous if you mix energy drinks with alcohol. Contrary to popular belief, caffeinated drinks do not speed up your metabolism or breath alcohol concentrations. For more information click here.
  • Most important: Never drink and drive- Even if you plan on having just one drink it never safe to drink and drive.
